How Committed are You?

I think it’s fair to say that most people know what they should do to be healthier, fitter, stronger and even more successful.

A lack of knowledge or information (in most cases) is not the issue, as nowadays we have an abundance of information at our fingertips.

The issue is we fail to take action or implement the knowledge we have.

People want to lose weight, people want to be fitter and healthier and they want to avoid dying at an early age due to poor health.

You don’t hear many people saying, “Yep I really want to feel like crap and die young”. So the issue isn’t that people don’t WANT to do it.

Part of what stops people from achieving what they want is taking THE FIRST STEP!

After reading this article people might say, “Yep I’m motivated, I can’t wait for Monday so I can start losing this last 10kg”. “But before that, I better eat all the crap in the house so I’m all set for Monday”.

Limiting beliefs like “I need start my diet or training Monday", or "I have to drink this weekend as it’s my friends 40th” are the beliefs holding these people back.

You see this person (and maybe this is you) struggles to make the full commitment. People get motivated, they start things (think new years resolutions), they sometimes even take some kind of action, however they haven’t made a full commitment to their goal or the lifestyle they want. They haven’t committed themselves completely to the way they want to look, feel and move.

If you want results, if you want to be successful you need to commit yourself to daily habits or daily choices, just like you would brushing your teeth everyday. Just because it’s someone’s birthday at work or your tired or it’s raining outside you wouldn’t avoid brushing your teeth would you?

So if you want to lose weight, be healthier or be more successful make the daily habitual commitment to your long-term goals NOW!
